Volvo XC40 / EX40 — FAQ
Q: Which Volvo XC40 / EX40 years does ShadeSlide fit? ShadeSlide™ for Volvo XC40 fits model years 2019 through 2025. The visor profile is consistent across this range. If you have a 2026 or later model, please contact us to confirm fitment before ordering.
Q: Does it fit the Volvo XC40 Recharge (electric version)? Yes. The Volvo XC40 Recharge uses the same interior and visor assembly as the standard XC40, so ShadeSlide™ fits both combustion and electric variants. If you have a Volvo EX40, please contact us to confirm compatibility with your specific model year before ordering.
Q: Does it work with both the driver and passenger side visors? Yes. ShadeSlide™ is available for the driver's side, the passenger's side, or as a driver + passenger set. The left and right units are mirror images and are not interchangeable — select the correct option at checkout.
Q: Will it interfere with the vanity mirror? No. ShadeSlide™ slides onto the outer edge of your factory visor and extends toward the B-pillar. It does not cover or block the vanity mirror or its cover in any position.
Q: Why are there three color options for the XC40 / EX40 but two for the Polestar 2? The Volvo XC40 is available with a Blonde (tan/beige) interior trim option, so we offer a Blonde finish to match. The Polestar 2 uses only dark interior trims, so Black and Light Grey are the appropriate options. Custom colors are available for both vehicles on request.
Q: How is this different from a generic universal sun visor extender? Generic clip-on extenders use velcro straps or clips that can shift, scratch, or damage your visor. ShadeSlide™ is custom-engineered to the exact geometry of the XC40's OEM visor — it slides on with precision-fit rails and stays firmly in place without any attachment hardware. The result is a seamless, factory-quality look and feel.

Polestar 2 — FAQ section
Q: Which Polestar 2 years does ShadeSlide fit? ShadeSlide™ is engineered to fit all Polestar 2 model years from 2021 through 2025. The visor profile did not change significantly across these model years, so one design fits all. If you have a 2026 or later model, please contact us before ordering to confirm compatibility.
Q: Does it work with both the driver and passenger side visors? Yes. ShadeSlide™ is available individually for the driver's side, the passenger's side, or as a driver + passenger set. The left and right units are mirror images of each other and are not interchangeable, so be sure to select the correct option at checkout.
Q: Will it interfere with the vanity mirror or mirror light? No. ShadeSlide™ attaches to the outer edge of your factory visor and slides outward toward the B-pillar. It does not cover or impede the vanity mirror, mirror cover, or lighting on either the standard or Plus Pack illuminated visor.
Q: Does it work with the panoramic glass roof? ShadeSlide™ is a side-window visor extension — it extends the factory sun visor horizontally to block low-angle glare from the front side windows. It is not designed for the panoramic roof. Polestar sells a separate panoramic roof sunshade for that purpose.
Q: How long does installation take? Most customers install ShadeSlide™ in under 60 seconds. It slides directly onto the factory visor's outer edge — no tools, no screws, no adhesive. Watch the full installation video at shadeslide.com/install.
Q: Is PETG safe for hot car interiors? Yes. PETG is rated to 80°C (176°F), which exceeds the typical peak interior temperature of a parked car in most climates. It is also UV-resistant, so it will not yellow or become brittle with sun exposure over time.
Q: Can I get a custom color? Yes. In addition to Black and Light Grey, we can print ShadeSlide™ in custom colors on request. Contact us through the Contact page with your color preference — we can often match interior trim colors.
